Tessa is now 11 days old and doing great! She is a good eater and so far, a good sleeper too! We are so lucky to have her in our family now. Samantha continues to be the best big sister ever. She is so sweet with the baby and is always asking to hold her, although it doesn't usually last that long! Thanks for checking in with us. We'll be getting Tessa's announcements and our family Christmas cards out in the next week or so. It's been a busy 11 days trying to get everything done in time for the holiday!! We hope you and yours are enjoying this holiday season!

Our New Daughter!

We are so excited to announce the arrival of our new daughter,
Tessa Noel Burt
born December 3rd, 2008 at 5:41 p.m. Tessa weighed in at 8 lbs. 7 oz. and 20 inches long. She is a healthy girl and we are so thankful! Kristina was induced around 9:00 in the morning and labored for a little over 8 hours. After only 10 minutes of pushing, Tessa was born and our hearts melted! Her big sister Samantha was there to meet little Tessa and their bond was instant. Samantha was very sweet with her; already taking care of her and giving her lots of kisses. Samantha is a great big sister already and we are so proud of her. Please enjoy these few pictures and come back for more as both our girls grow. We will also be sending out Tessa's formal birth announcement so watch for that in the mail! Thank you for all your love and support! We are so blessed, now more so than ever!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to All!!
We hope you had a wonderful holiday with your friends and family. We made it through the day with no labor or baby, so now she can really come anytime!! As you can see from the picture, I am ready to pop! Samantha keeps patting my belly saying "Get out, ...." (she knows baby's name). She really wants to meet her little sister since we keep telling her it will be very soon!
Anyways, Happy Turkey Day!! Gobble, Gobble!

39 Weeks Today!
Today I am 39 weeks pregnant and had my last OB check-up. According to my doctor, I am now 2-3 cm. dilated and still 50% effaced. She said the big event could be any day or it could still be another week. The waiting is definitely getting to me!! The good news is I am scheduled for an induction on Wednesday, December 3rd. However, it is likely I will get "bumped up" to December 1st or 2nd if the hospital's schedule has openings. My Dr. said it's very common for women to be scheduled for delivery and then have the baby sooner, thus leaving an opening in the induction schedule. I am crossing my fingers this happens and I can deliver on the 1st!!
So now it's a true waiting game... either my water will break, contractions will begin, or we will wait for our induction. Either way, at the very most, we should meet our new daughter in the next 9 days. I guess in the grand scheme of things another 9 days isn't too bad... but I'd love to meet her sooner!!
Thanks for checking in with us and stay tuned for the birth announcement!!

In Week 38...
We saw my OB/GYN today and I was 1-2 cm. and 50% effaced. That means I'm showing some signs of being at the end of things, but I could also stay this way for another week or two. So we will return on Tuesday (11/18) for another check-up and go from there. My Dr. said if I don't deliver on my own, I will be induced on 12/1/08 which is my official due date. We're still hoping baby girl makes her debut before Thanksgiving, so send us your labor vibes and we'll keep you posted!! Thanks for all your support!

November at last!

We made it through Halloween! It seemed like a very long month with all our Halloween activities and while Samantha had a blast this Halloween, Mommy is glad it's over now ;) We went to Pumpkin City several times, hosted a kid's Halloween party, went to Halloween Time @ Disneyland (California Adventure), and ended it all by Trick-or-Treating with friends.
As for the pregnancy, I am now almost 36 weeks. We are OFFICIALLY in the home stretch now! I feel like I've been saying that for a while, but now it feels a little more real. Our new baby girl should be here within the month! Things are still going well and the baby is doing great. My feet are swelling but that was expected since they did with Samantha as well. I am in countdown mode and with every passing day, I get more and more excited to meet our new daughter. I can't wait to see what she looks like, what color her eyes are, if she'll have hair or not, and how much she'll resemble Samantha! There is so much to look forward to and I can't wait for it all!!
Thanks for checking in with us. We hope you are all enjoying fall and had a great Halloween. Can you believe the holidays are upon us!?!! Thanksgiving and Christmas are just around the corner!

In week 33!
Hi everybody!
Today is day one of Week 33 of my pregnancy. We are really getting close now! We've been busy getting the house organized and put together for the new baby. I think Samantha is tired of hearing "she'll be here soon" because she keeps telling us of the things she's going to do with her new sister. She is very excited to share her new double stroller with the baby but makes sure we know the baby will sit "in back" of her and she gets the front seat!
I am really, really feeling pregnant these days. I've had a little swelling, but not too much [yet?]. I'm very uncomfortable during sleep; which means I'm not sleeping much at all at night. Thank goodness I can still get in a nap during the day. Samantha continues to be a good napper so of course that makes for a happy mommy too!! My belly is growing and stretching and the pounds are really coming on! I feel like I waddle when I walk. It's hard to cross my legs when I sit (real ladylike, right!). When I do get up from the bed or sofa, I feel like I have to slide off and peel myself up. But all this is a welcomed gift. I know it will end soon and that will mean I will have a new daughter to love. I can't believe she's almost here!!
We are so thankful that Jason is still employed! The economy and market have taken their effect on us, but we are hanging on. Let's just hope these "rainy days" don't last too long!! We hope you all are doing okay too and making it through this mortgage mess!
Once the new baby is born, we intend to have an "open house" where you are all welcome to come by and meet her. Stay tuned for the day and details. We really hope we can see all of you sometime soon!! Enjoy the fall weather and Halloween. Next year the Burt Halloween Party will return!! We are already looking forward to it. But first... onto bigger things!!

In the last trimester!
We're in the home stretch! I am almost 29 weeks pregnant and still going strong. Baby Girl is kicking and moving all the time. She really beats up on her mommy some days ;) Samantha LOVES kissing my belly and says "baby sister" all the time. She even knows her name... but we're not telling!
Samantha now sleeps in her big girl bed which she affectionately refers to as her "bunk beds" (which they are). She sleeps on the bottom bunk (a 'full' mattress) and the top bunk is reserved for "my baby sister" so she will tell you. She still wakes up and will call for Daddy and Honey, aka Mommy, but she is doing a great job and we are very proud of her. I write "Honey" because that seems to be her new name for me. And if I don't respond to that fast enough, I get the "...TINA!" from my own daughter!! She really is a teenager trapped in a two-year old's body!!
Jason is doing well and still working hard. He says he is very excited to have 2 little girls. He and Samantha have a really neat bond now and I can't wait to see him in action with the new baby. I think he will be a great second-time daddy.
I am counting the days until little one arrives and giving in to my need to nest. I am in full organization mode and busy getting the "girls" bedroom just so. It's been fun shopping and buying matching outfits, etc... for my girls to share. I'm really just so excited to have 2 daughters. I feel like I've won the lottery.
Well check back soon for more updates. Samantha started Kinder Care 2 days a week now so that has been a new transition. She is doing well and still loves it. We are so proud of her!!

Family News
Well today we had a 4D ultrasound of the baby. At first, she had all her limbs smack in front of her face (literally in the fetal position!) But then she moved around a little and we got a good look at her cute little mug! Jason and I agreed we thought she looked like Samantha! So everything looks great and she is growing everyday. Samantha now points to and kisses my tummy and says "baby sister!" It is so sweet and I can't wait to have both our girls together.
Samantha is in Kinder-Care one day a week. We call it her "school" and she loves it. She really loves her teacher, Ms. Gina, and all her new friends too. She is growing into such a tender-hearted, sweet girl. She loves to help take care of mommy and our dog Sophie. And she loves to dance and play horsie with Daddy. But most of all she loves to swim with Daddy. He has really worked with her in the pool this summer and her confidence is amazing to watch - and a little scary! She does a great job kicking her legs and moving her arms. And she LOVES to go under water!!
Well we are entering our last trimester of this pregnancy. In one way I am very excited - of course! - to meet our new daughter. But I am also a little sad that it will soon be over. Aside from the early morning sickness I experienced, I really love being pregnant. I love feeling her move and watching my tummy bump around from the outside! And I love that Samantha will have a sister for life (and vice versa). I can't believe we are going to have two little girls soon!! We are so blessed!!
Thanks for checking in with us. I will try to add more and new photos asap. We love you all!

Hi everyone! I had trouble for a while logging back in to update the site, but I think I have it all figured out now (or so I hope!) I am almost 25 weeks pregnant and doing well. The baby moves all the time and is fun to feel kicking around. I think we have another active little girl coming our way! Samantha is enjoying summer and really talking up a storm. It's amazing how everyday her sentences get longer and vocabulary gets larger. She is really growing up!! We hope everyone is doing well and enjoying summer. I will post new belly pics soon!! Take care!
