Vacation!

We took our first vacation as a family of 4! We traveled all the way to the desert for a few days of fun! We met our good friends, The Maddux Family, at the Lawrence Welk Desert Oasis in Palm Desert. It was a fun 3 days of lots of pool and play time. On the second morning we went to the local Children's Museum so the kids could run around and explore. Samantha loved the grocery store set as well as the "make your own pizza" place. She really had fun painting the VW Bug (pics below). Tessa, as always, just loved people watching and seeing what was going on around her. Back at the hotel in the evenings, we hung out in all of our rooms, bbq'd and just kicked back. It was a great time had by all!

The Fourth!

Happy 4th of July! This was our first 4th as a family of 4! We had a great time celebrating with friends and eating yummy food! Both girls got to see the Ladera Ranch fireworks show and I think it's safe to say they enjoyed it. Tessa watched the fireworks in awe, then fell asleep DURING the show! Samantha had a blast too!

A long month... and a new baby!

It's been a long month since I posted last! We've been busy doing summer things: playing with friends, pool time, etc... But the best part took place on June 23rd, 2009... our friends Scott and Andrea Patton welcomed their new baby girl, Kaia Annie. She was 7 lbs. 4 oz. and 20 in. long. Kaia came into the world via c-section after Andrea labored for 18 hours, then pushed for over another hour. Miss Kaia had plans of her own, so a c-section was in order. She was born at 11:39 pm. and is now home doing well and being cute. Big brother Jake and big sister Abi are great with her and now the Patton Family of 5 are starting a new chapter! Welcome to the world Kaia!
P.S. And Happy 7 months to our sweet Tessa Noel! I can't believe we are on the "other side" of the first year and soon she will be ONE!!!
